Edna Mary VanLandingham
Edna Mary VanLandingham, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Beloved wife of Edsel VanLandingham. She was born in New Rochelle, New York on January 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Maurice Joseph Roche and Anna Catherine Bergin Roche. Edna was a kind, helpful, and lovable person. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Silver Spring, Maryland. They shared many happy times together. For over twenty years, Edna was employed at The Hecht Company where she formed many life-long friendships. In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her daughter, Katherine Miller (Carl), her sisters, Marion Dail and Elizabeth Lassiter and her son-in-law, Patrick M. Goforth. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Edsel VanLandingham, her sons Steven (Stacey) and James (Alana), her daughters, Karen and Mary, her grandchildren, Jennifer Hillyard, Matthew Miller (Ashley), Robert Miller, Kathleen Miller, Brian VanLandingham, Patrick J. Goforth, Caitlin Goforth, Maya Algabi, Amanda Algabi (Mohammed Naser) and five great grandchildren, Declan Miller, Hailey Miller, Ghina Naser, Nada Naser, Salwa Naser and many devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends. Edna’s life is a wonderful reminder of the power of family, faith, love and kindness. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring, Maryland 20901 on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 2301 Colston Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
